A piece of NENA history from the early 80s.
This legendary photograph by Jim Rakete was taken
in 1982 – at a time when everything was just beginning for NENA
and her band. Their first songs had been released, their first
major performances were causing a stir, and NENA’s distinctive
style was becoming the hallmark of a new generation.
Jim Rakete accompanied NENA during this formative period not only
as a photographer, but also as the band’s manager. His photographs
became an important part of the visual history of NENA’s early
years – authentic, direct and unmistakable.
The “TREPPE” Vintage Poster brings back that very
atmosphere: the energy and style of the early 80s, the beginnings
of a young band and the distinctive look of an era that still
enjoys cult status today.
