On 4 March 2015, NENA returned to a place deeply connected to her own history: the legendary SO36 in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district. She had already performed there at the age of 18. Decades later, the very same venue became the starting point for her exclusive club tour – creating a very special moment in NENA’s history.
“LIVE AT SO36” captures the unique atmosphere of that concert: the closeness to the audience, the raw energy of a small club and the feeling of a band and its fans becoming one for a night. No huge arena, no distance – just sweat, volume, passion and pure joy of performing.
The set combines NENA’s timeless classics with songs from her album “Oldschool”. “Nur Geträumt”, “Leuchtturm”, “99 Luftballons”, “Wunder gescheh'n” and “Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann” meet tracks such as “Lieder von früher”, “Betonblock”, “Kreis”, “Genau jetzt”, “Peter Pan” and “Schicksal”.
Musically, the concert moves between classic rock, new wave and punk. NENA and her band perform with a direct, powerful and unfiltered energy, bringing together the musical influences of her early years with her unmistakable sound.
