“MADE IN GERMANY” is NENA’s 2009 studio album – 13 songs as varied as life itself.
Modern, danceable and infused with rock, sometimes electronic, sometimes driven by powerful basslines, the album combines energetic pop songs with heartfelt ballads. Songs such as “SchönSchönSchön”, “Made in Germany”, “Geheimnis”, “In meinem Leben” and “Du bist so gut für mich” reveal very different sides of NENA.
On “MADE IN GERMANY”, NENA explores personal experiences, feelings and observations with directness and honesty. The songs are fast and slow, light and deep, joyful and reflective – sometimes sexy, sometimes powerful and always close to life.
For the production, NENA worked with Derek von Krogh, Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen and Reinhold Heil, among others. This also marked the return of Reinhold Heil, producer of the first three NENA albums, to her side.
